I'm back!

Holy poop it's been forever and I know I have alot of explaining to do for my lack of recent craftiness. First, for the last 3 weeks the hubby and I have been in Hawaii enjoying the amazing sun, beautiful views, and calming ocean. It was a wonderful trip, very relaxing, and was the perfect start to a summer that is sure to end up completely hectic and crazy.

Why hectic and crazy by the end of the summer you ask? This brings me to to the 2nd reason I have been MIA recently.

I'm so excited to announce we are expecting our first baby in December!

So, with that said, I have been SUPER tired (too tried to eat or even brush my hair without a pep talk tired) and all the crafty stuff I have been working on was for a nursery and the hubby and I had decided before becoming pregnant that we were not telling anyone until 2nd trimester so that meant no sticking baby crafts on the website for my or his family to see and make assumptions from.

Sigh, so that's the scoop. Hope you all understand and I promise I'll post something crafty soon! Happy Tuesday!

It's been forever!

I feel like I dropped off the face of the bloggy earth. Sigh. I haven't been able blog or look around at everyone's wonderful creations for weeks. So sorry for my recent absence. Things have been a little hectic here. I've been trying desperately to cut my hours back at work so I can be home and actually enjoy my life a little and we've had alot of new changes happening in our house :o) I promise to update everyone soon and hopefully this week I can let my creative juices flow a little and get a project posted again. Happy Tuesday!

Hippity Hop...

Happy beautiful, warm, sunny Friday to all! I hope you're having a wonderful day (even though, if you're like me, you're enjoying the sunshine from the comfort of your kitchen where pots are boiling, cakes are rising, and timers are buzzing). Short post today, my list for the day is super long! Please enjoy my latest Easter items that I got done just in time and don't forget to hop on over to Punkin Seed Productions for the weekly 'Plant a Punkin Seed Party'!

I'm so excited with how this came out! I found an old chenille bedspread at GoodWill a few weeks ago and for some reason knew that part of it needed to become a rabbit. From that, Beauregard Bunny was born! I tea stained the chenille, sketches some rabbit parts, and sewed and stuffed. I just love him! All the way down to his little cotton tail....

The eggs are plastic eggs covered in left over fabric strips and the carrots are styrofoam cones done the same way.

This bunny look familiar? I had 1 left over from my felted Easter garland and decided to give him a spring flower home on a quick little emboidered sampler. Nothing like a nice 'hippity hop' through the wild flowers.

Spring!

It's Spring! The last of the snow has melted and colorful flowers are pushing up in the garden to enjoy today's "spring showers". Being out in the sun, after months of being snowed in, is like a spring cleaning for your mind. Projects that include bright and cheery colors push aside older ideas that contained deeper and richer hues and beg to be completed.
Hope you enjoy some of my new spring decorations and the beautiful sunshine!

Felted Wool Easter Basket

(I was going to make this into a door hanging but I have an urge to frame it for some reason. Your thoughts?)

You've Got Mail...

Not voice mail, not a tweet, not a facebook message, not an IM, but an actual piece of paper mail that has a stamp and just shows up in your mailbox waiting to be ripped open and share its news. I love mail. Don't get me wrong, e-mails and all other new and virtual forms of messaging are nice and it certainly seems like we use them more than we used to sent letters, but it's just so exciting to get a piece of mail, Especially when you had no idea it was coming. There's something about knowing that someone cared enough to write down their thoughts, wrap them in a envelope, sealed it, and send it off to be shared with you that is just so special when compared to pressing the "send" button. Thankfully, there's still some people out there who feel the same and Deborah from The Fairfield House is one of them. She is trying to get people from all 50 states and all over the world to send her postcards about where they live and she, in return, will send you a postcard with information on her neck of the woods. Plus, a participant from each of the 50 states will be entered into a drawing for super fun New Jersey Prize pack! Please check out her blog and join the fun! Help keep Snail Mail alive!

45 years....

Happy 45th Wedding Anniversary Mom & Dad!
I know everyone says this, but my parents are the best in the world. They have always been there to support me, to cheer me on, and to aide in my continuing evolution into the person I strive to be. I am almost thirty (sigh) and still try every day to make them as proud of me as I can if only as a way of thanking them for everything they've done. So, ...
Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad.
I hope it's as wonderful as you!

It Snowed....

It snowed, and snowed, and snowed some more. It has snowed so much that we are now trapped. Cabin fever is setting in, at least for the rest of the family. I have been happily felting
on my comfy sofa watching Oxygen. I may start to go a little crazy soon though. I have run out of fusible web to start new projects and i'm almost out of embroidery floss. Things could get ugly. Hope you enjoy my snowed in projects!

Pumpkin roll (I would have taken a picture, but it got eaten too fast), dark chocolate cake with caramel icing, Jewish Apple cake, and cream cheese brownies.
an Easter Basket for the front door
and a felted heart, cinnamon, & button garland for my sad little pipe cleaner tree in the foyer.
Happy Shoveling!

Waiting for the snow....

Today is a double job day. A start at 7 a.m. at job #1 and finish at 2 a.m. at job #2 day. It is also going to be a snow day. A supposedly HEAVY snow day. I'm starting to think that someone upstairs knows my double shift work schedule and plans these storms just for those days. So far this winter there hasn't been a storm that didn't fall on a double shift day. Coinkydink? I think not. Sigh. How I wish I could just be at home on my snuggle couch covered in my latest felt project. No such luck. Maybe I'll try and pencil it in for tomorrow between shoveling sessions.

Awesome GoodWill Day!

My GoodWill run today was spectacular! There is nothing better than walking in hoping you'll find one special treasure and walking out with 2 ENORMOUS bags FULL of goodies! I decided to take my usualy bi-weekly trip into the GoodWill to stock up on wool sweaters becuase once the thermometer goes above 30, the shorts are out and then it's goodbye wool, so I have to stock up now. So, in I go and SWEATERS GALORE! Yellow, green, pink, blue, stripes, and yummy cashmere (cashmere for 3 dollars, you almost hate to use it for crafts). But wait, it gets better! Not only was I in sweater heaven but the shelves were STOCKED with cute little treasures to the point that I almost ran out of room in my cart! And the best part? After ringing everything up, 10 sweaters, 2 woven jackets (for a neat garland meant for the banister), 2 crocks, 3 fabric lollipops, a brand new lampshade, an awesome wooden basket (which will be even better after a make-over), a neat silver platter, and a country picture with frame came to the grand total of ........ $50.45. Fabulous!
